Kakheti  
The region of monasteries and winemaking, with a rich history and, of course, delicious Georgian cuisine.
One of the richest regions located in eastern Georgia. The history of Kakheti region is rooted in the distant past, definitely in the times of BC. Since immemorial times, Kakheti has been the main wine-growing region of the country. Alazani Valley, surrounded by a crown of mountains, is ideal for viticulture. In these places is fertile soil, mild climate, abundance of water and forests, diverse and luxurious nature.
The main value of Kakhetians is wine, which is made in huge jugs called "kvevri". The vessels are made of clay. The drink is poured in a kvevri which is placed underground, and wine ripening takes place there. You can travel around Kakheti all year round. Kakheti acquires a special charm in early autumn - during the harvest season of the grapes which is called "rtveli".

Bodbe Monastery

The Convent of the Bodbe Diocese of the Georgian Orthodox Church is located in two kilometers from the town of Sighnaghi in Kakheti. There are resting the relics of St. Nino, the enlightener of Georgia, who died there in the year 347, after a 35-year-old apostolic asceticism. Immediately behind the temple there is an observation deck with a beautiful view of the Alazani Valley, from which the path leads down to the springs of St. Nino.
Sighnaghi (City of Love)
A small, romantic and beautiful town in eastern Georgia, on the mountainside, in the historical region of Kakheti. It is located on terraces connecting winding steep streets. The city was built in the 18th century by King Erekle II as a refuge. The walls of Sighnakh fortress miraculously survived and today surround the old part of the city and extend far beyond the city borders. Along the perimeter of the walls, 28 watchtowers are preserved, with a wonderful view of the Alazani Valley.
Winery "Khareba"
Winery Khareba is located in Kvareli district, Kakheti. This is one of the best wineries in Georgia producing wines of different varieties. The company's winery is known for its huge warehouse - a 7.7 km long tunnel. Tours and tastings of various sorts of wine are held here.
Corporation "Kindzmarauli"
One of the largest wineries in Kakheti. It is located in the very center of the town of Kvareli and is the main producer of the famous semi-sweet Kindzmarauli wine. Now the plant owns 300 of the 400 hectares of the Kindzmarauli microzone, wine storage, wine shop, tasting rooms, and a restaurant. Tours and tastings of various sorts of wine are held here.
Ilia Lake
Ilia Lake Ilia Lake is an artificial reservoir in the Alazani Valley, near the town of Kvareli. It is filled with the noisy river Duruji, which carries its waters among the picturesque mountain ranges and vineyards of Saperavi.
Nekresi Monastery
An ancient monastery complex in Kakheti, located on the top of a mountain in the Alazani Valley. Many centuries ago here was the city of the same name - Nekresi, the ruins of which can be seen from the height of the monastery. The Nekresi complex combines several monuments, among which the most ancient is the small basilica of the second half of the fourth century. This basilica is one of the oldest Christian buildings in Georgia. From the territory of the monastery opens incredibly picturesque views of the Alazani Valley.
Telavi
The city of Telavi is located in the heart of Kakheti, a historical region of Eastern Georgia, located in the valleys of the Iori and Alazani rivers. Telavi has been known since the first century AD and was an important trading center on the caravan route from the Middle East to Europe. In the XI and from the XVII to XVIII centuries it was the capital of the Kakhetian kingdom. The center of Telavi is the castle of Erekle II, in front of which there is an observation deck and a monument to this king. Here you can simultaneously enjoy the greenery of river valleys, the slopes of the mountains of the Greater Caucasus, topped with thousand-meter peaks, its slopes overgrown with hornbeam and oak forests, turning into alpine meadows.
