Borjomi

The resort of Borjomi is located in the south-eastern part of Georgia, in the gorge of the Mtkvari River, at an altitude of 810–850 m above sea level. Borjomi belongs to the group of low-mountain resorts and is surrounded by mountain ranges covered with coniferous and deciduous forests. The climate is characterized by moderate temperatures in both the summer and winter periods. Borjomi is known for its healing mineral water, which is used as drinking water for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, metabolism, kidneys and baths for cardiovascular diseases, diseases of the nervous system and respiratory organs. Archaeological excavations have found stone baths here, which indicates that the healing power of mineral water was known and used in ancient times. There are over 200 historical monuments in the Borjomi gorge: fortresses, churches, monasteries. A special place among the historical monuments is occupied by the palace of the Russian Kings Romanovs, built at the end of the XIX century. In the center of Borjomi is a city park where you can try mineral water. The park stretches for several kilometers with waterfalls and picturesque views. You can also swim in hot mineral springs.
